Onion & Capsicum Pizza

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • Salt to taste

For the Toppings:

  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and olive oil.
  2. Gradually add warm water and knead into a smooth dough.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  1. In a saucepan, combine tomato puree, oregano, basil, red chili flakes, and salt.
  2. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.

Step 3:Assemble the Pizza

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out the dough into a desired shape and thickness.
  3. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
  4. Top with sliced onions and bell peppers.
  5. Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese.
  6. Drizzle with olive oil.

Step 4: Bake the Pizza

Place the pizza on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
